Leviticus 11-27; Numbers

What a wonderful week!! I had the opportunity to learn with the scriptures, videos, post, comments and reflexions of my companions. Sometimes, it's hard to get focus in what the Lord wants us to learn and how we can put into practice. Being sincere for me the harder books are Leviticus and Numbers because I felt that I couldn't find principles in that chapters.

Every time that I study the scriptures with my family, my father always say: What principle can we find here? That's why I wanted to study the Old Testament and see all the doctrine that I can learn from there. I was so happy that with the help of my companions I proved that: there's always a principle in the scriptures. Here are some principles that I remember the most.

First, Leviticus 18, 20

The great importance of the law of chastity. During these times, the law of chastity has changed a lot and now it's "normal" to break it. In these verses, I learned that if we keep it, we are keeping his statutes and his judments. Also, that we shouldn't follow or do the bad things that the world does; we should live in a holier manner and set a good example. In conclusion,  "ye shall not walk in the manners of the nation, which I cast out before you." Leviticus 20:23

Second, Numbers 11:14-17

Like I posted in the Insight Sharing, I learned that the Lord will always help us with an alternative to deal with our problems. We can read in 1 Nephi 3:7 something similar: "for I know that the Lord giveth no commandments unto the children of men, save he shall prepare a way for them that they may accomplish the thing which he commandeth them". So, He will prepare "a way" to accomplish his commandments. I know that in the future we'll see the hand of the Lord and remember how He helped us during that hard time.

Third, Numbers 14:22

During all this journey that they were having, we can learn that pride was never a good thing and it will never be. They had seen miracles and despite of that they didn't want to believe in the marvelous things that there were happening. Sometimes I read these verses, I reflex and ask to myself: Why they didn't believe? But during these days, it can happen the same to me. A lot of times I chose not to believe. This verses helped me to understand that the Lord will not make his promises if I don't keep my part of the covenant. In the post of a companion it was mentioned this principle and it helped me a lot: "Even after witnessing miracles, the natural man can still make us forget about the importance of following Jesus Christ".

I loved and enjoyed this week a lot!
